Terry Gilliam

While at the BFI Film Festival, Short Notice got a chance to talk with the Python himself, Terry Gilliam. The director was in town premiering his short “The Wholly Family”. The movie tells the story of a young boy who, while on holiday in Naples with his family, steals a doll and comes to realize the strange, magical and dangerous powers of his actions.

BFI

The 55th annual BFI London Festival took place this October bringing with it a host of celebrities, feature films and a vast number of shorts as well. In this two-week festival, over three hundred films were screened from over fifty different countries, attracting film lovers from across the world.

Ingrid Pitt: Beyond the Forest

Ingrid Pitt, the late Hollywood actress best known for her roles in horror films in the 1960s and 70s, leaves a touching last project behind with her narration of the animated short “Ingrid Pitt: Beyond the Forest”. The short, animated by eleven-year-old Perry Chen, tells the story of Ingrid Pitt’s own miraculous escape from a Nazi concentration camp during World War II.

Mr Forgettable

What do you get when you combine a film crew and a bicycle company? One interesting short film, that’s for sure! After Director Roydon Turner approached Foffa bikes owner Dani Foffa about centering his short film, “Mr. Forgettable” on their product, a unique blend of advertising entertainment was created, a type of advertising ingenuity that has become quite popular in the world of short films recently. Former child star, Melissa Joan Hart, makes her directorial debut with the short film ‘Mute’, a story of a troubled young woman who wakes up from a coma after a horrific car accident to discover that her boyfriend has been stolen by her older sister. The young woman, played by Melissa Joan Hart’s own sister Emily Hart, is rendered deaf and mute by the accident and seeks revenge on her sister.
