{"id":6497,"date":"2021-10-16T13:43:53","date_gmt":"2021-10-16T13:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shorts.tv\/asia\/?page_id=6497"},"modified":"2023-01-16T13:55:14","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T13:55:14","slug":"best-of-india-short-film-festival-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/shorts.tv\/asia\/events\/best-of-india-short-film-festival-2021","title":{"rendered":"Best of India Short Film Festival 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"story-page-card \">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"story-element story-element-text\">\n<p>In 2021, ShortsTV hosted the fourth edition of the Best of India Short Film Festival, which was won by the short film &#8216;Highway Nights&#8217;, starring Prakash Jha and Mazel Vyas.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Shubham Singh and co-produced by Singh and Akhilesh Choudhary, &#8216;Highway Nights&#8217; is a heart-warming story about a bond formed between an aging and overworked lorry driver and a young, chatty sex worker who he gives a lift to one night.<\/p>\n<p>Its prize is a theatrical release in Los Angeles, which will qualify it to be considered for an Oscar Nomination in 2022, as well as a television broadcast deal on ShortsTV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am elated to hear the news and I congratulate the whole team. It\u2019s a film with an important message and I hope the film reaches a wider audience with the theatrical, digital and television broadcast all over the world,&#8221; said Prakash Jha.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"story-page-card \">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"story-element story-element-text\">\n<div class=\"story-page-card \">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"story-element story-element-text\">\n<div>\n<p>\u201cIt is my first short film and to receive such acclaim is heartening.
